I’m pleased to be sharing the news that Louis Sterling AKA Auxx, has just announced a new release titled ‘23/09’.

This follows ‘Spirit Image’, his recent Record Store Day collaboration with Jack Cleary. A single that the Brighton-based (UK) duo released on Collective Resonance. That release was accompanied by some limited edition, lathe-cut records.

This time around, Louis is releasing an EP via Canadian label Urbnet. It will be his second release with them, after his ‘Harmonics Contrast‘ album, which came out back in 2015. Vinyl fans will be pleased to know that there will also be some more limited-edition records available. You might want to pre-order one soon though, as like with Spirit Image, they are doing a small run of just twelve. Though these will be 10″ lathe-cut vinyl. There are also some cassettes available for pre-order on Bandcamp

Two singles off this forthcoming EP have just been released and you can check them out via the Bandcamp player, which is embedded below. Louis has touched on what inspired the title and theme of his new EP by saying, “The day I’d officially moved to a new city, was the same day I’d later found out a family member passed away. It inspired me to question and explore unexpectedness, danger and mortality, the key foundations to curating, ’23/09′. Rather than a tribute, I decided to write a project that explores this phase of surrealism through the musical genres and styles I have been closely familiar with. From the statements and sinister atmospheres on ‘Black Wings’, to tracks such as ‘Lilith’, representing the closure of consciousness, knowing of its surrealism and unfamiliar outcome.”
