Anatole has finally capped off an incredible 2015 with the releases of his highly anticipated Surrounds EP through independent Australian record label TEEF Recordings. Recorded between his own bedroom and Gotye’s Melbourne studio, the EP is a masterclass production micro-nuances. Across its four tracks you’ll find every orchestral instrument imaginable. Songs like ‘Colours’ and title track ‘Surrounds’ are punctuated by beautifully arranged string sections while ‘Away’ is a vocal driven track that features Anatole’s own trumpet playing. The artists’ conversatorium training comes to the forefront on a release that seeks to reveal the bigger picture in cinema scape through its attention to ever micro-nuance of production. Mixed and mastered by the prodigious Andrei Eremin (Chet Faker, Oscar Key Sung, Hiatus Kaiyote), this is electronic music on an orchestral scale rarely heard in Australia and the fruits of an electronic producer who is combining extreme innovation with classical beauty.

The release concludes what has been a staggeringly productive year for the Sydney producer. Performing live alongside the likes of artists such as Vallis Alps, Japanese Wallpaper and Gordi, he then went on to headline a three week residency at Sydney’s prestigious Museum Of Contemporary Art. His official remixes for Jack Grace and Japanese Wallpaper have earned him critical accolades but it’s his original recordings that have drawn the most attention. The first single from the Surrounds EP, ‘Away’ premiered on DIY Magazine and has gone on to receive over 100k plays across Spotify and Soundcloud. At the time of writing his second single ‘Colours’ has been out for 8 days and has received it’s own 100k plays sitting comfortably on the Hype Machine charts.Buy this EP, stream this EP, tell your friends about this EP and support one of the most promising young producers Australia has to offer.”
